Get ready for another epic year of Groundwater Country Music Festival (CMF) as we celebrate 10 years of country music on the Gold Coast!
Returning to the streets, parks and venues of Broadbeach from 20 – 22 October 2023, it’s going to be three jam-packed days of country music with more than 50 artists performing across 15 venues and stages.
With more than 20 additional artists joining the already stacked lineup that includes country favourites like Lee Kernaghan, Jackson Dean, The Wolfe Brothers, Amber Lawrence, Casey Barnes plus so many more, now’s the time to start planning your Groundwater CMF experience with the festival program and app so you can catch as many acts as possible!
Friday 20 October
Helping us kick off the festivities is festival favourite and Gold Coast local Casey Barnes, who has been part of the Groundwater CMF family since 2014. You can read more about Casey’s journey with Groundwater CMF here!
Also taking to the stage is the not-to-be-missed debut of Rhinestoned, featuring multi-award-winning country queen Kirsty Lee Akers.
There’ll also be plenty of performances throughout Broadbeach venues, including Oracle Boulevard, The Broadbeach, The Lucky Squire, Room 81, TC’s Bar & Gaming Lounge, Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar & Diner, and Den Devine so you can dine and drink without missing a set!
Saturday 21 October
It’s the weekend! For the first time at Groundwater CMF, there’ll be a KIX Live at Groundwater ‘Songwriters’ session at The Kurrawa Big Top. Featuring prominent artists from this year’s lineup, the session will take a deep dive behind some of country music’s best songwriting minds.
Then going into the afternoon, there’ll be plenty of in-venue performances including the Oasis Shopping Centre, as well as an in-store performance at Beatniks Records, and The ‘Summer You’ Cocktail Sessions – Featuring Route 33 & Friends at SOHO BAR.
Once the sun goes down, we hope you’re ready for the party! With international favourites like rising US star Jackson Dean, and Grammy Award-winning supergroup Asleep at the Wheel who are finally making their long-waited Australian debut after 50 years of touring the world, it’s going to be an incredible show!
To finish off night two, Tassie legends and six-time Golden Guitar winners The Wolfe Brothers will take to The Kurrawa Big Top, along with Australian country music legends Adam Harvey & Beccy Cole, who’ll be performing their hugely popular Great Country Songbook show on the Surf Parade Stage. What a day!
Sunday 22 October
And we’re on the last day… but we can’t finish up without a bang!
Lee Kernaghan and Amber Lawrence, the King and Queen of Country, will wrap up Groundwater CMF 2023 with an epic finale! And if you missed some acts throughout the weekend, don’t stress! Some of your favourites like Bo’Ness, The Pleasures and Jackson Dean will also be performing on the Sunday.
Also returning to the festival this year are the Country Fair and Country Markets in Kurrawa Park. Open daily throughout the entire festival, come have a throw at the Cornhole Arena, shop for a pair of new boots or show your support to our festival partner Drought Angels by riding The Big Slide!
With so much on offer, make sure to download the official festival app to organise your festival schedule! Simply tap the heart icon for the acts you want to see and you’ll receive a reminder before their set begins. Plus, you’ll also have an interactive festival map, artist info, and live festival updates in your pocket at all times!
