Fresh from her second Golden Guitar win at the 2021 awards, one of Australia's most talented and authentic artists is coming back to Groundwater CMF.
A proud First Nations woman of the Wonnarua Nation, from the time she could walk she was singing, so you could say music is in her blood. The only artist in history to win a Golden Guitar, Toyota Star Maker, and The Telstra Road to Tamworth, Akers has carved out a unique career for herself. After playing big stages in Nashville (Americana Fest, Music City Roots, CMA Fest), Canada (Calgary Stampede, Big Valley Jamboree), and the UK (Buckle and Boots) over the last few years, the only way is up for this pint-sized powerhouse.
While COVID-19 certainly challenged us all, Kirsty managed to write and record new music with some of the world's best, while also taking a leap into the TV arena, starring with her husband Jesse on the 2021 edition of Channel 9's 'The Block' where they won hearts across Australia. Her last album went to #1 on the ARIA charts and has now amassed just shy of 2 million plays. With her new album ‘WILD’ hitting airwaves in April 2022, the very first album release through her very own label‚ Rider Records, she will be ready to share all her hits, as well as all the new tracks in her high-energy stage show at Groundwater CMF!
