Haystack Mountain Hermits

Multi-award-winning family band Haystack Mountain Hermits began busking around campfires and in iconic markets around Australia on their Big Lap in 2011.

They’re all related (and have the embarrassing photos to prove it), all multi-instrumentalists and all go. Between them, they play resonator guitar, mandolin, double bass, accordion, washboard, ukulele, banjo, snare drum, harmonica, kazoo, xaphoon … and more! Think gypsy/skiffle/blues with a dash of country and crazy!

2018 was a huge year for the Haystack Mountain Hermits – crowned Australian National Busking Champions in November after winning the Toyota Busking Championships in Tamworth in January and Qld Regional Busking Championships in February, with many performances at festivals stages in between.

Tamworth Country Music Festival welcomed them back for the Opening Concert and many performances throughout the festival.

The band also released their debut EP, Going Home, and will be featured in a documentary on TV in early 2019. They play. They sing. They fight. Catch the Hermit vibe soon.
