Drawing accolades at every major juncture in her career, Urquhart has released a string of hit singles, from the dreamy classic country whimsy of signature tune ‘Planet of Love’, to award-winning festival favourites ‘The Flood’ and ‘Big Black Cloud’. In 2007, ‘Big Black Cloud’, a co-write with the inimitable Randy Scruggs, took out the No.1 spot on the Country Tracks National Top 30 Singles Chart.
Urquhart has opened for Willie Nelson and the late, great Waylon Jennings, supported John Mellencamp and Sheryl Crow, and toured with the iconic Kenny Rogers. She’s performed for an American president and shared a stage with the gamut of local country luminaries from Gina Jeffreys to Adam Harvey.
Off-stage, Urquhart’s commitment to the timeless craft of songwriting has seen her collaborate with masters including Kim Richey, Randy Scruggs, Mark Seymour, Ross Wilson, and James Reyne.
A constant presence on Australian screens and airwaves, Urquhart has been a marquee presenter on Channel 7’s Sydney Weekender since 2005 and has hosted ABC Radio’s flagship country music variety show Saturday Night Country since 2010—as well as serving as the face of Tourism NSW’s nationally broadcast Heart of Country NSW campaign.
