The 22-year-old from Jindabyne NSW became the 39th Toyota Star Maker winner at the competition that has launched a long list of highly successful country artists.
Brad initially saw Star Maker as an opportunity to perform in front of a huge audience however it turned out to be far more than that.
That door is set to stay wide open for Brad with some industry experts already touting him as the next
Following his win on Sunday, 21 January 2018, Star Maker re-released Too Drunk To Drive on Australia Day, Friday, 26 January 2018, and this saw an unprecedented rise on the country charts, of a previously released song, with KIX Country taking the song to #1 where it sat for two weeks.
Brad came to Star Maker with a 12-track album in hand. Despite the prize being a 4-track EP, organisers made the decision to release his album based on the strength of the songs and the production by multi-Golden Guitar winner Matt Fell.
Brad’s influences are fellow Star Maker winner Keith Urban (1990), Troy Cassar-Daley, Morgan Evans, and US artists Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Brent Cobb, Turnpike Troubadours, The Steel Woods, Corb Lund and from a song-writing perspective Ryan Adams, Dawes, Gang of Youths and Eric Church.
Some of Brad’s prizes include 12 months use of a brand new Toyota RAV4 with an unlimited fuel card for 12 months, Maton, Fender and Jands products, guaranteed performances at major festivals throughout Australia including the Groundwater CMF @ Broadbeach, Gympie Music Muster, Central Coast CMF in NSW, Deni Ute Muster in Deniliquin and performances at West Tamworth League Club and with The Pub Group, plus corporate events, and a return trip to Nashville including accommodation for one, courtesy of Chris Watson Travel.
